PRL SYRENA 104 - Beige
The decision to begin designing a new Polish compact car was made in May 1953 by the then Presidium of the Government: "...a popular means of transport must be created, saving time in the performance of professional and leisure activities, intended for innovators, exemplary workers, activists, scientists, and leading representatives of the intelligentsia." In June 1955, a prototype of the Syrena was publicly unveiled for the first time at the 24th International Poznań Fair. The Syrena 104 was the last model with "suicide doors," opening opposite to the direction of travel.
