Polyurethane filters. Advantages of using polyurethane foam
Unique aluminum grease filters are reinforced with a special polyurethane foam that eliminates up to 98% of all fat particles and other impurities. At the same time, the hood maintains its absorption efficiency.
LED Lighting
Newer models of kitchen hoods are equipped with LEDs that provide excellent illumination of the stovetop and its immediate surroundings. Compared to other lighting systems, LEDs are extremely economical, emit light close to natural light, consume a minimum amount of energy, and are also characterized by an extremely long (up to three times longer) service life. A well-chosen and properly installed kitchen hood with LED lighting is an important element of kitchen equipment not only from the point of view of aesthetics, but also functionality.
Absorber
The action of the absorber is that it sucks in air saturated with steam and odors, and after filtering, directs it back into the room.
If in the apartment it is not possible to connect the eaves directly to the ventilation duct, a good alternative solution will be the installation of a canister. The canister sucks in air through a carbon filter that effectively absorbs odors and water vapor, after which the purified air is directed back into the room. The absorbers are easy to install and are a convenient solution for apartments in blocks of flats, where usually the installation of chimney hoods requiring connection to ventilation ducts encounters difficulties. The carbon filter should be replaced 1-2 times a year, depending on the frequency of use of the canister.
Noise level. More power with less noise
In today's homes, the kitchen is the new focal point, which in turn draws attention to the noise level produced by the kitchen hoods. Over the past few years, the performance of hoods has increased significantly, and sound-absorbing materials are increasingly used in many Gorenje kitchen hoods.
Some useful tips:
- Do not forget to turn on the hood before starting cooking. In this way, you will increase its efficiency.
- Leave the hood on for about 10 to 15 minutes after cooking. This will remove the remnants of vapors from the air.
- When using the hood, do not open the window in the kitchen, so as not to disturb the proper air circulation and not to compensate for the vacuum effect.
- For maximum airing efficiency, choose a kitchen hood that has at least the same width as the cooking hob.
What performance do you need?
What capacity should the new kitchen hood have? It depends largely on the size of the kitchen. A good rule of thumb is that the hood should be able to replace the air 10 to 20 times per hour. For example, if the kitchen has dimensions of 4 x 4 m, and the ceiling height is 2.5 m, the kitchen hood should replace about 400-800 / m3 of air per hour.
Thus, the necessary extraction yield depends on the volume of your kitchen. The calculation of the required capacity of the hood is: 10 x the volume of your kitchen (volume = width x height x depth).
When installing the hood, there will always be some pressure loss. Therefore, it is important to observe the following rules:
- Always use the recommended venting diameter of the hood (O) indicated on the pipe or vent pipe.
- If possible, use smooth pipes to minimize air resistance.
- Try to make the installation as short as possible and as few bends in the pipes as possible.
- You need gentle curves in the pipe instead of sharp bends so that the air can flow freely, minimizing pressure loss.
