ORS-8 allows to amplify the RS-485 signal from a single transmitter (e.g. recorder, control panel, PC) and separate it into 8 independent RS-485 buses connected to receivers (CCTV cameras)The device provides optical isolation separately between each of the output buses and between the output buses and the RS-485 signal inputThe purpose of ORS-8 is to protect CCTV installations against damage resulting from overvoltages on individual devices connected to the RS-485 bus (e.g. overvoltages resulting from lightning)
The device also allows the separation of a single RS-485 bus into 8 channels and thus allows the use of star topologyTherefore, each of the cameras can be connected with a separate RS-485 cable with a length of up to 1200m, thus facilitating the planning of physical wiring implementation in a CCTV system and increasing the maximum distances of RS-485 signal transmission
