The fiber optic pigtail is designed for connecting distribution cables in distribution frames and is terminated on one side with SC/UPC connector. It is characterized by low attenuation and easy installation and operation of optical fiber, as well as high data transmission speed. The pigtail uses OM2 multimode fiber and an external non-flammable cable coating, which does not emit harmful gases (LSZH) during a fire. The signal in a multimode fiber allows light modes of different sizes to propagate in it. By spreading many modes of light in optical fiber, the so-called mode dispersion, i.e. blurring of the signal, occurs. This phenomenon has an impact on reducing the speed and transmission distance. Multimode fiber is an ideal solution when there is no need to transmit over distances greater than 5 km.
