Nucleum is a complex game of industrial network building that demands careful planning and adaptability to a dynamically changing map. On your turn, youll play an action tile onto your board or the map, or perform a recharge action. Connect cities to construct and power buildings using the Nucleum and uranium from your mines. How Does It Work?
- In Nucleum, players take on the roles of industrialists striving for success during the economic and technological boom of 19th-century Saxony.
- The main board features cities with building plots, mining fields, turbine and power plant slots, and potential railway connections. Connecting cities with rail lines creates your network on the map.
- Gameplay is continuous, with players taking turns one by one, without dividing the game into rounds or phases.
- On your turn, you must either play an action tile or perform a recharge action. Recharging allows you to recover used tiles and collect income.
- Action tiles can be used in two ways: either to carry out actions like placing buildings, mines, or turbines on the map, acquiring new tiles, and completing contracts, or to lay rail tracks. Using tiles for rail construction provides significant benefits but prevents those tiles from being recovered during a recharge.
- Points are earned by constructing and powering city buildings, fulfilling contracts, and achieving goals set by King Frederick Augustus.
