What is the difference between a smart PIR motion sensor and a traditional one? In addition, the sensor can be synchronized with intelligent lighting. The detector is powered by a CR2450 3V battery, which means you won't need an electrician to install it. Monitoring of battery status, WiFi signal and warnings is carried out from the application for mobile devices.
The motion sensor works in the Zigbee system. Thanks to this, we have the opportunity to use the functions of the Tuya and Smart Home applications. The detector can be used as a protection device - when motion is detected, the system will trigger an alarm siren and send a notification to the smartphone.
The detector has a detection range of up to 5m and a viewing angle of 150 degrees. Its small size (75 x 35mm) makes it unobtrusive and does not disturb the aesthetics of the room. It will be perfect when we mount it, for example, at the door. Protection is not the only use of the detector. We can attach it, for example, at the stairs and after integration with intelligent lighting, the light will turn on by itself when we approach the stairs. Such detectors are often used in places that we usually use for a few minutes - e.g. pantries, dressing rooms, corridors, etc. Such an application translates into saving electricity - you will not forget to turn off the light.
When activated, the sensor detects motion and, when motion is detected in its area of operation, it sends a real-time warning to the smartphone via a dedicated Smart Life or Tuya app. You can add multiple contact numbers in the app to get notifications, which is great if you're out of the country, for example. In addition, the detector has the ability to operate Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice assistants, which will allow you to comfortably control your sensors by voice.
Installing wireless sensors and detectors is very easy. All you have to do is download the Smart Life or Tuya application to your smartphone and log in to it. The next step is to search from the list of the appropriate device that you want to add by clicking on the "+" sign or the "Add device" button, e.g. Protection sensors – PIR sensor (Zigbee). Next, the application itself guides you step by step, just follow its commands. With a well-done installation, it takes about 1-2 minutes to pair the detectors. Remember that the sensor needs a Zigbee gate (a separate device) to work.
