How to foam milk perfectly?
- Cold milk should be poured into a jug. Remember that there is not too much of it – frothy milk will increase its volume twice, so it must have some space for itself.
- Tilt the milk jug slightly and insert the nozzle into it – it should be just below the surface of the milk.
- We turn on the device and, making circular movements with a jug, foam the milk. The nozzle should be just below the surface at all times.
- When the milk has already foamed and its volume increases, then we move the nozzle a little deeper, thanks to which we will heat the lower layer of milk.
- The ideal temperature is about 65 ° C – 70 ° C. At this temperature, the lactose contained in milk is dissolved, which gives it a sweet taste. A higher temperature will cut the protein and foaming will not succeed. Baristas sometimes use special thermometers inserted into jugs. You probably don't have one, so just stop heating when the jug gets unpleasantly hot.
- Finally, knock on the jug so that the milk bubbles fall a little. Ready! Milk can be added to espresso and make a cappuccino, latte or other coffee.
