Omni-directional Wi-Fi Poynting Antenna OMNI-496
The OMNI-496 is a dual-band omnidirectional Wi-Fi antenna developed by Poynting. The antenna can connect to any Wi-Fi access point, whether it's older Wi-Fi technology or new dual-band Wi-Fi technology that supports 802.11ac. The antenna can solve the problem of channel saturation and provide the highest Wi-Fi performance and flexibility. The OMNI-496 is the marine version of its urban, industrial and commercial equivalent IP68; OMNI-296. The antenna operates in two frequency bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, offering excellent use of the radio spectrum. The antenna has a maximum gain of 6 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 7.5 dBi in the 5 GHz band, which ensures the best performance with reliable connections. The antenna has a female N-type connector at the base, which can be terminated with a cable of the desired type and length.

Voltage Wave Factor (VSWR)*
VSWR is a measure of the efficiency of transmitting radio frequency power from a power source through a transmission line to a load. In an ideal system, 100% of the power is transmitted, which corresponds to VSWR 1:1, OMNI-496 provides excellent performance on all bands with VSWR ≤ 2.5:1 or better on 90% of the bands.
Gain in dBi
7.5 dBi is peak gain in all bands from 2400 to 6000 MHz.
- Gain at 2400-2500 MHz: 6 dBi
- Gain at 3400-3800 MHz: 7 dBi
- Gain at 5000-6000 MHz: 7.5 dBi
* Antenna gain measured with a standard antenna tuned to polarization
