LANBERG SWITCH 16X 100MB POE+/2X COMBO UNMANAGED RACK 19" GIGABIT ETHERNET 150W
POWER SUPPLY IS NOT A PROBLEM FOR HIM: SIMPLE AND FUNCTIONAL LANBERG POE+ SWITCH
The PoE+ switch is an indispensable active device in any network structure using power transmission through structured cabling. RSFE-16P-2C-150 is dedicated to all types of installations: home, business, low-current, monitoring, IP, VoIP, cable TV networks, and in particular can be used in alarm, fire and access control infrastructure.
In addition to the primary function of the switch, which is to support the movement of Ethernet frames between ports, it also provides power to each device in the PoE/PoE+ standard - 802.3af and at. This makes it possible to supply up to 150 W of power to devices in total. And all this together with simultaneous data transmission to them.
This saves resources, space and the time it would take to install a separate electrical and network installation. This is particularly important if the network is dispersed and its end devices do not have access to a power source, even more so if they are mounted outdoors.
NO-COMPROMISE SOLUTION - REAL POE BUDGET: 150W
The switch is equipped with a total of 18 ports, including 16 PoE+ ports (Fast Ethernet) and 2 Uplink ports (Combo Gigabit). The thoughtful design and attention to component quality provides the user with up to 150 W of total real power for end devices, which means that up to:
- 10 IEEE 802.3af devices (max. 15 W per port) or
- 5 IEEE 802.3at devices (max. 30 W per port)
The remaining 2 ports (Uplink) are dedicated for data traffic exchange between the 16 PoE+ ports and external devices. In the case of monitoring/control systems, this is particularly useful, as it allows the user to record video from cameras to the DVR while simultaneously sharing the stream further (on the second port), e.g. in the local network or on the Internet.
INTELLIGENT POE PORT DISCONNECT FUNCTION
It is not always fully known how a switch will behave when the available PoE budget is exceeded. There are several possibilities: the port which exceeds the budget will be disconnected, or a random port or the most recently connected port will be disconnected. In the last case, what will be their order after power failure and its restoration when all of them are simultaneously connected to the switch?
Lanberg has introduced an innovative solution in the RS series switches, which, thanks to the simplicity of the operating principle, eliminates any doubts as to the mechanics of port operation.
At the moment, when the PoE budget is exceeded (e.g. by a device connected to port 1), the switch will start disconnecting PoE ports starting from the highest number until the sum of loads does not exceed the available budget; keeping the operation of other ports intact. Those that are disconnected will remain in this state until the PoE load decreases.
This function is primarily dedicated to demanding applications that place emphasis on security and continuity of operation, where some devices must operate continuously regardless of the situation. In such cases Lanberg switches will allow the user to protect sensitive devices by connecting them to the lowest numbered ports.
EXTEND MODE UP TO 250 METRES WITH VLAN
According to the standard switches provide the possibility for devices to work at a distance of up to 100 m on a single section of cable. However, sometimes it turns out that due to the extensive backbone network and complex environment, a non-standard solution that goes beyond the standard is required when developing the cabling and network. In the case of monitoring solutions this is a fairly common problem, most often resulting from too large a distance between the distribution device and the end device.
Lanberg switches have a function enabling data transmission (max. 10 Mb/s) and PoE+ power supply up to 250 m on one cable section with the function of PoE ports separation between each other (VLAN). Simply toggle the button to the "PoE+ Extend 250m" position on the chassis to provide longer distance operation and separation for ports 1 ~ 16.
The solution was introduced for monitoring and IP as well as access control systems, especially if the end devices are located outdoors without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points.
6 kV surge protection
The switch itself, as well as the devices connected to it, are repeatedly exposed to various hazards, including lightning discharges, which can flow through both power and network cables.
Keeping in mind the safety of the devices as well as their users, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated discharge protection circuit, guaranteeing 6 kV protection for all ports, effectively reducing their damage due to voltage surges.
Under standard conditions the work in the network will continue uninterrupted, the switch will continue to work without any interruptions and the user gains safety of the device and infrastructure.
MOUNTING SET INCLUDED - 19" MOUNTING EARS
The RS switch series is characterised not only by quality of workmanship, simplicity of use, functionality of the device, but also complementarity in terms of assembly and supplied accessories where possible.
Lanberg has introduced a set of accessories for versatile mounting of its switches. RSFE-16P-2C-150 came with mounting ears for 19" cabinets and a set of mounting screws (except M6). This allows wider use and greater freedom of installation of RS series switches.
