Power over Ethernet PoE - what is it?
Power over Ethernet (PoE for short) is a technology that transmits power over an ethernet cable. Thanks to this, we can simultaneously power the device and ensure the exchange of information. PoE technology is particularly popular for IP cameras, VoIP phones, Internet Access Points and POS terminals. Network devices using PoE are convenient to use, which makes them liked by installers. Taking, for example, a monitoring network - normally you would have to pull the power and transmission cable separately to each of the cameras. Here we can use a switch that will simultaneously power the devices and send information from them.
