Wanderers from the South Tigris
Explore the lands, seas and skies around medieval Baghdad in the first part of a new trilogy designed by the creators of the Western Kingdom series of games.
Dice, workers and cards... in medieval Baghdad
Take on the role of explorers, astronomers and cartographers who traversed the lands and seas around medieval Baghdad in the 9th century AD, on a mission to map the land and sky. Meet the Inhabitants, develop your Caravan, manage your workers and equipment, and write a Journal of your journey to get into the Caliph's good graces.
Lay out a horizon of cards
This is your engine. You'll gain new fields of action with the Cities and Ports cards, permanent skills with the Mountains and one-time bonuses with the Seas.
Add Residents
You can place a Resident card with a unique ability under each land card. You will activate it whenever you use that land card.
Sky gives you points
You can add a Celestial card above any discovered terrain. Discovered constellations or planets add sources of victory points. You can double them by adding an Inspiration card.
Play a dice or a worker
Use dice on your own action fields or workers on your main board actions. Alternatively, you can Rest to recover dice and move on the Journal track.
Expand the Caravan
The dice values you use on the action fields depend on your Caravan. Add tiles with your chosen action or income symbols to strengthen your chosen strategy.
Diary
Progress on the Diary track to unlock more dice, gain bonuses, Inspiration cards or valuable Caravan tiles. Reaching the end of the track by one player triggers the end of the game.
The new trilogy
Wanderers is the first game of a new series from Shem Phillips and S.J. MacDonald - creators of the Western Kingdom line (Architects, Paladins and Viscounts).
Precision control
Build a different engine each game! Acquire cards with private action fields, skills and scoring methods, develop the Caravan, and decide the length of the game.
Regrivity
A strategy for exploring land areas? Or for developing the Caravan? An emphasis on the Sky? Or perhaps for completing the Journal track quickly? Wanderers offers a wealth of paths to victory and tremendous regriability.
Addictive solo mode
The highly intuitive solo variant offers four virtual opponents to choose from. Each has a different strategy!
