7 Wonders of the World: A duel is a game for 2 players, which uses some of the main ideas of the 7 Wonders of the World bestseller, but also offers new challenges specially tailored to the two-player game.
There are 3 ways to win in this game:
- military domination,
- scientific domination,
- civilian victory.
The game introduces an innovative way of matching cards, before the game - we arrange them according to the given pattern, and we can choose only those that are not covered by other cards. Choosing one of them, we discover more, making them available to my opponent, which during the game leads to difficult choices and dilemmas.
Players will compete against each other for cards of various buildings, trying to block their availability to the opponent, and choosing the ones that will provide them with the greatest benefits.
- By acquiring red cards, players "push" the conflict marker towards their opponent, and when he reaches his capital, they immediately win the game. Along the way, they gain tokens, which further slow down the opponent by taking away his coins,
- The scientific and green cards obtained during the game allow us to buy development tokens, thanks to which we considerably increase the advantage over our opponent,
- Thanks to yellow, commercial cards, we will receive more coins, which are a very valuable currency in the game, which significantly supports the acquisition of raw materials,
- Blue, cultural cards will give us a clear shot of victory points,
- Playing all cards will depend on having an appropriate combination of brown and gray cards in your town that will ensure the supply of necessary raw materials for its expansion,
- If everything goes our way, at the end of the game in the third era, we will also be able to get guild cards, violet, thanks to which we will be able to summarize our achievements earning points for a specific branch of development, crowning the construction of our city.
However, this is not all, because each player starts the game with 4 wonders of the world (selected from among 12 available), each of them has different skills and helps to develop in a specific field. They can be raised during the game by receiving privileges, but out of 8 miracles in the game, only 7 will be built. Take your time to run away from your opponent.
7 Wonders of the World: A duel is a two-player game with a simple mechanics, which offers players a lot of interesting choices, while having several paths leading to victory.
The game received the Golden Geek Award as the winner in the categories "two-player game" and "card game". She also took third place in the "game of the year" category, second in the "strategy game" category.
The game received the "Board Game - Players' Award 2015" award as a result of voting by players on the GameTroll TV channel.
