Board game BloodBorne (EN)

Bloodborne is a cooperative board game, based on the cult video game of the same title. Its author is Eric Lang, the creator of such works as Cthulhu: Death May Die, Marvel United, Rising Sun, Blood Rage or Chaos in the Old World. In Bloodborne we will move to the dark world of Yharnam, where impenetrable evil transforms subsequent inhabitants into monsters. Playing the role of Trackers, we will face the challenge of defeating a mysterious plague and discovering the secrets of a sinister city. Bloodborne is a campaign game, players will progress through successive Campaigns, making up Chapters, after each of them expanding their deck and becoming stronger. In Bloodborne, players and enemies will move and fight each other on a tile map, which will appeal to all those who prefer Dungeon Crawler games. However, unlike such titles as Zombicide, here subsequent fragments of terrain appear during the game, and enemies activate between player turns. Bloodborne is a huge title, which consists of hundreds of cards, dozens of tokens and over forty detailed figurines.

When canines grow
It is not known where it came from or what it is. Plague. It started innocently. One boy had a horn on his forehead. His colleagues laughed at him. Until the day the boy grew fangs, thanks to which he ate these colleagues, and wings on which he flew. Half a year passed, and fifty similar cases have been recorded since then in Yharnam, the cursed city. Someone finally has to do something about it. Four Scouts were sent in the wake of the monsters. They are to eradicate evil and know its cause. You've got into this group.

Campaigns
The gameplay in Bloodborn consists of four Campaigns. In each Campaign you will play three Chapters. Each Chapter has its own special rules and its own preparation process. In each Chapter you will also reveal the Mission cards. Completing Missions and earning Rewards will lead you to victory. However, if you lose even in the third Chapter, the entire Campaign will have to be played from the beginning.

Actions
During their turn, each Scout can perform a series of actions, spending one Statistics card on each. The player decides whether he wants to use three cards regularly every turn or leave himself more cards for the future. The Scout may move, attack, or interact with the Object or target of the Mission. More tiles of terrain will be exposed as they try to move, so the Trackers never know what awaits them around the corner.

Arsenal
Each Scout starts the game with a universal deck of cards that will evolve over the course of the Campaign to become unique. In addition to the cards in the deck, the player will use Consumables, powerful artifacts that can be used at a specific point in the game. Reward cards work similarly, but are reusable and awarded for completing Missions. In turn, Treacherous Weapons and Firearms have dedicated slots on the Scout Board. A tracker can only possess one piece of each of them.

Advantages:

  • Eric Lang's cooperative board game (Cthulhu: Death May Die, Marvel United, Rising Sun) based on the cult video title;
  • Campaign mode, intelligent enemy behavior system and deck-building mechanics over the course of successive Chapters;
  • Move into the dark world of Bloodborn with over forty wonderfully crafted Trackers and Enemies figures, amazing artifacts and an atmospheric Yharnam board, reflecting the atmosphere of the Victorian era!
