Active extension AXAGON ADR-305 USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable 5 m long. Ideal for connecting your computer to a USB device such as a mouse, keyboard, webcam, printer, scanner, plotter and others. The active USB repeater cable strengthens the passing USB signal and allows you to connect a significantly more distant USB device than the usual 5 meters when passive cables are used. The range of the cable can be further extended by using several cables in a row. 

Thanks to the used USB 3.2 Gen 1 (formerly USB 3.0) interface, you can enjoy a data transfer speed of up to 5 Gbps. So, you can use the cable for devices that require higher speed, such as backup systems, NAS data storage and others. 

A great advantage of the ADR-305 extension is an integrated auxiliary power supply connector. In most cases, USB bus power is sufficient, but for devices with larger power consumption the USB power supply may be inadequate and auxiliary power from the mains may resolve the problem. 

The remarkably compact body of the AXAGON repeater allows for trouble-free use in electrical installation strips or cable systems. The use of a high-quality shielded cable ensures high communication speed and minimal undesirable interference.

Power supply: Power supply of the cable and connected devices via USB bus (bus-power mode 5V - 500mA). For most connected USB devices, the power supply via USB bus is sufficient and no auxiliary power is required. The active part of the cable includes a Micro USB connector for additional external power supply of 5V/1-2 A. The power cable USB A-M / Micro USB, 1.2 m long is included. The cable allows powering from a standard mobile phone charger with USB-A output 5V / min. 1A, e.g. AXAGON ACU-DS16.  When powering the repeater cable with the power adapter, an external 2.5" disk can be connected without the need for own power supply to the disk.  For longer USB route with multiple repeater cables connected in a row, the USB bus supply may be inadequate for USB devices with lower power consumption than an external 2.5" drive. Also, in this case it can help to boost the power supply by connecting a power adapter.

Other features: Fully compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) and backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.  Full Plug and Play and Hot Plug support.  Two LEDs indicating power and USB connection.  Behind the active USB cable, a common passive USB cable can also be used.
