The F15B decoder enables the reception of all audio standards that are broadcast in Poland, including NICAM stereo. The decoder digitally processes the received signal, thanks to which the sound quality is very good. When the set-top box is installed in the TV, it takes over all the functions of the audio path, except for the volume, timbre and balance controls. The decoder is designed to work in two basic configurations:

Configuration I is designed for stereo receivers using the receiver's internal amplifier and speakers. All original receiver functions are retained.

configuration II for mono receivers requires cooperation with external stereo AUDIO equipment. Sound parameters are adjusted by an external amplifier.

The decoder automatically recognizes the standard of the received audio and can signal its type (mono, stereo, two sounds). To make it easier to connect the set-top box to different TV sets, several additional equipment boards have been designed. Using these plates, the set-top box can be connected to most stereo or mono TV sets. The F15B decoder can also be installed in A2 stereo video recorders, extending their capabilities to NICAM reception.
